Hedgehog VisitsPeople often ask if they can come and meet a hedgehog. We encourage people to interact with friendly hedgehogs, to ask questions, and research their next pet before making a commitment. Since many people are still unsure if a hedgehog is the right pet for their family, this visit can be invaluable. Due to our busy schedule and the time it takes to properly review hedgehog care and handling, we charge a visitation fee. Visitations must be scheduled prior to your arrival.

Meet and Greet |
During a hedgie meet and greet, you will have a hands-on, interactive, basic introduction to hedgehog handling and care. Participants will meet one to three friendly hedgehog ambassadors and learn how to properly pick up and safely handle these little quilled companions. Care will be reviewed along with the pros and cons of hedgehog ownership. Questions are encouraged. These visits are offsite at a public park. Since hedgehogs are cold sensitive, these visits are only possible on warm days above 70 degrees. This visit is limited to 5 participants. Children must be able to sit quietly for up to one hour during the presentation.

Introduction to Breeding |
This visitation is for people considering breeding. We encourage all new breeders to locate an experienced breeder mentor. You must have prior hedgehog experience. If you are new to hedgehogs then we recommend our standard visitation. Access will be granted to our hedgehog room with much stricter rules and guidelines. This visitation will include breeding techniques, care of mothers and hoglets, mandated paperwork and facility requirements for licensure, pedigrees, hedgehog colors, and helpful advice. This visitation is restricted to 2 participants: one must be an adult and the second must be at least 12 years of age.
