Though we have autumn breeding announcements the litter success rates drop dramatically during late fall and winter. Most animals do not have offspring during this time, and hedgehogs are no exception. I very rarely have Christmas babies and only one litter has ever been born here in December. We continue to breed during these months on the odd chance that one will take, but late fall/winter litters are not common. It might not be spring until we have another litter.
